Charles, you are correct in you assessment here. the truth is that much of the tech stuff has come out of the caves. the hogarth concept says to use the same gear config all the time to practice & be perfect. Many of the people going to the tech (not only hogarthian) are moving way to fast in there growth in the sport. because of this when they get on a boat, swaying & rocking with poor vis & cold water, they can't handle it & have problems. they would be better served to drop off half of the shit & just go in & have fun. there doesn't have to be a mission on every dive. you can just have fun & come back. don't forget the come back part! dive on & on hank In a message dated 97-01-16 12:29:22 EST, you write: << Subj: Re: Worst Configuration . . . The crew and >divers on our boat all had a good laugh. I have seen this too often to mention. Doubles, redundant wings, drysuit, light, etc, etc, all in the name of looking techie, when a single alu 80, ow bc, and wetsuit would make the dive safer and much more enjoyable. I think is is becoming a trend to OVERGEAR on any wreck/deep dive. -Charles +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Please send messages for the WreckDiver list to: wreckdiver@wreckdiver.com Send subscription and help requests to: wreckdiver-request@wreckdiver.com +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
