I COMPLETELY agree; however, such experience should be conducted in very
controlled circumstances, with people who know how to treat hypoxic
patients standing there, and above all should NOT be conducted underwater.
I did several such tests before I ever got in the water with a rebreather
(I did similar tests for hypercapnia).  The point was to recognise the
symptoms, not to simulate a real potentially life-threatening situation.
