> My latest IANTD journal has a full page ad from Dive-Rite showing

There's a description of this BC (the "TransPac") in the "New
Products" column of the December issue of Dive Training magazine. A
full color photo accompanies the announcement (the ad in IANTD
Journal just has an outline drawing). There are a couple of
interesting things about the photo.

For one thing, the BC appears to have a padded lining. The other
thing is that it has colored accents on the shoulder straps (the rest
of it is black). It may not be a production model, though.

I plan on calling DiveRite for some more info, but would be
interested in knowing if anyone has seen one of these "for real".
