The YMCA and NASDS also offer Nitrox specialties under similar circumstances (Instructor is cross-trained by ANDI or IANTD, and uses appropriate training materials from one of those agencies). In some cases, the additional "home" agency requirements are more strict than the "technical" agency requirements. For example, NAUI requires at least three OW dives for their specialty (this is true of all NAUI specialties, not just Nitrox). YMCA requires that the student diver has at least 20 dives prior to enrollment in the Nitrox course, and that all certification dives be done in accordance with the Navy *air* tables (i.e. dive the Nitrox as though it were air). I'm not familiar with NASDS requirements, btu I imagine they are similar. -JimG
