Subject: Re: ICE dives aren't Cave dives
I have been using the Apex TX50 for some years now and have made hundreds of
dives with it in cold water and never had a freflow. The Scubapro on the other
hand is useless for cold water diving , at least the G-250 and R-190 the D-400
seems to work a little better. The problem with the Scubapro is largely the1
stage but if combined with a good cold water 1 stage like the Poseidon they work
pretty OK. It is a pity that Scubapro haven't come up with a better 1 stage when
they have such great 2 stages i haven't got any experience with the new 1 stages
though maybe they are better. Mares regs are also pretty good for cold water, i
have some friends that use them with succes. I am using the AGA ffm for shallow
salvage work and have found it quite prone to freacing, have had several
freeflows with it. The Poseidon also works fine but when it does start to
freeflow it is very violent and goes quick. The Poseidon might also fail to add
during a freezeup witch is not very good and the enviromental kit for the 1
stage is not a great design..
