On trimix instructors both IANTD UK and Canada have summed up the approach. In the USA we are now training more mix instructors and a few additional trimix IT's. However it is because we have a larger community to draw from. Although I published this earlier I would like to once again state the IANTD prerequisites for mix instructor: 1 certified as a technical EANx instructor or EANx cave or EANx wreck instructor and trimix diver 2. active teaching status with 3 years of IANTD teaching experience 3. Have taught 6 EANx courses, 3 deep air courses, 3 advanced EANx courses, 3 advanced deep air courses, and 3 technical EANx courses 4. Be recommended by a trimix instructor after having assisted in two complete trimix courses 5. Have a log of 500 dives, with 200 dives deeper than 100 feet/30m, and a minimum of 40 trimix dives. 6. Be a trimix blender Then the canidate must complete a 4 day IEC, Any requirements less than this would not assure students of a safe training program. On trimix IT's there must be a jusfification for one in the region where one wishes to be active and the canidate must have at least 100 trimix dives, already be a Technical EANx IT, and have taught a minimum of 10 trimix courses. Even with all the hype about mix, few actually have these qualifications. I hope this answers any questions anyone following this thread may have. Tom Mount
