I think Doug is correct. If you are reading off the new US Divers catalog tank specs, they are totally botched. Some companies used to give buoyancy figures empty w/o valve and some wizard probably matched these with the full w/valve buoyancy figure which threw their charts off. Doesn't matter what kind of tank you put the air in, the air will still weigh the same. -KL Douglas Buckley wrote: > > Mark, > > It is 0.075 lbs per cu foot of air, so you can get the real number for your > self. > Sometimes theygoof it up by including/excluding the valve. > > Doug > > At 03:52 PM 4/20/97 -0400, you wrote: > >While looking over the bouyancy characteristics LP steel tanks I came > >across something that doesn't exactly make sense; > > > >According to OMS the difference in bouyancy for a 98cf from full to > >empty is about 8lbs (-7.73full/0empty) > > > >The numbers for a PST 95 are -4.75lbs full/-1.75lbs empty. > > > >What doesn't make sense is how can the PST change only 3lbs from full to > >empty when the actual air weighs at least 6lbs? > > > >Does anyone have any ifo on this?
