Part of the problem is the medium. The net is like having a conversation in
which new people are joining in the middle of the discussion all the time
without benefit of seeing the previous points.
I'm sure George gets tired of having to explain the same points over and over
every time somebody signs on to the list that has not been exposed to
techniques
other than what they learned in class or from the local gurus, particularly if
they are one of the local gurus.
I'm sure part of the short fuse comes from watching dead bodies being pulled
out
of the springs over the years and having to pull a few out himself, some of
whom
were friends who would still be alive if they had been taught to "do it right".
That sort of thing tends to make one intolerant.
As for me, I'm just ignorant not stupid. I'm here to learn and I don't learn
anything from name calling, so it wastes my time.

Same here plus a few other choice expletives when I sent him a message saying I
wouldn't dive with a guy with his temperament. But I can still learn from him,
and have.
