If you do the same here, I will leave this list as well. You're full of crap George! Ray >> {Soapbox Mode On} No, George is not full of crap. He is opinionated, rude, foul-mouthed (or foul-keyboarded, at least), homophobic, intolerant, and has a hair trigger, but he's not full of crap. The diving that WKPP does demands the ultimate in efficient, dependable, streamlined, "user-friendly" diving gear and procedures. These were not created out of thin air, they have evolved through trial and error - some of the errors resulting in death. He believes in using the best tools to get the job done. Unfortunately, he does not extend this philosophy to his communications. The best tool to promote his vision of safe diving would be a clear, reasoned rebuttal to a potentially dangerous diving practice, but instead he insults and rails at the poster, causing him (if he's as stubborn as many of us are) to dig his heels in and argue the louder. There is a reason for every one of the WKPP's gear and procedure standards, but it is seldom obvious what they are, especially from Georges flames. Eventually, after reading him enough, one can pick out the pearls from the manure. And occasionally, he will post a real gem - check the techdiver archives for his post on 11-14-96 entitled "Serious Trimix mix choice" for a good example. Amazingly, I don't recall seeing one response to this concise explanation of how and why they use the mixes they do. Is George a pain in the butt? Sure, he can be. Should he be banned from the list? No. But please, George, use the best tools available - reasoned argument, not flames. If somebody's statement needs blasting, blast the statement, not the poster. {Soapbox Mode Off.} Dan (Not associated with WKPP. Never dove in a cave.
