Transformer = DiveRite TransPac

A bc designed to accomodate different needs by allowing the user to choose
between 3 different wing types and to allow for either single or double
set-ups. Relatively expensive. More D rings than you'll ever need. If
that's problematic there are tools that can cut D rings, maybe to the
amazement of some of the net goons. I guess some folks get a little overly
confused when presented with choices. The only other problem that I've
noticed is that the wings are not designed to be changed very quickly or
very easily, but who is going to dinking around with wings before a dive.

I am not the type of diver who purchases the latest gizmo on the market so I
can fondle it and show it off to a my little group of like minded friends
for approval. If you dive in a team by all means work within your team for
gear configurations. Just don't let internet goons decide what is right for
your diving when, after all, they only know about you and your diving from
words on a screen. Sorta like making up your mind about someone by the
color of their skin or the religion they choose to practice.

And yes, after diving the same bc for over 750 logged ocean dives over 14
years I ended up buying a "transformer." Do I like it -- absolutely. Is it
the best bc on the market? I doubt it, but I do know enough that it isn't
the worst.

NB: If anyone needs to pick this apart, by all means do so if you can point
to specific problems about this or any other product. If you want to flame
me personally, e-mail me directly or if you think you got enough led in
your pencil maybe you'd prefer to call and schedule an appointment? 800-453-2983
On a final note if you'd rather get a group of friends together for security
and meet me I can be found every weekday at 7:30am, rain or shine, jogging
on the beach between Palmetto Park Rd and Spanish River Blvd. Running
pertains to sub 6 minute miles in my dictionary, something I haven't done
since my college days :-(.

Regards, John
