Mike,
I'm not trying to be cute, but if you want to be safe, you have to be 
willing to pay the price.  I have a DAN O2 kit on board, plus several O2 
cleaned regulators, stage bottles, etc. I'm also set up for IWR if 
necessary.  In short, if you want to do tech. dives, get all the 
necessary gear and don't bet your life on the depth of your wallet.
