Since I have been listening in to the techdiver list and researching some of the available information on the "dangerous" sport of technical diving, the thing that impresses me the most is the overriding concern for safety measures that seem to be high on every competent technical divers list of do's. I'm fairly new to diving (a little of 90 dives) and I would like just a flow of opinions as to my next planned equipment purchase. I would really like to own and have available a source of 100% O2 at the dive site with me but like most relative newcomers to the sport I have limited funding. Would purchasing a 13 cu.ft. pony bottle with a decent regulator, having both oxygen cleaned and filled be more versatile and advantageous to me and those diving with me than a DAN O2 setup? I can see the time when just having a surface unit might not fulfill my needs, yet the pony bottle / regulator setup wouldn't have a passive face mask for diving accidents. Any and all inputs will be appreciated. Dive, dive, dive ooooooooo
