Well, I'm certainly not experienced in terms of deep dives, but my
first "deep" dive was in a chamber. We went "down" in less than 2 minutes to
30 meters. While we were going down, we were so busy equalizing we did not
notice anything at all, but when the "depth" stabilized and as soon as we
got our fingers off (not out of!) our noses, *WHAM*! there it was, like if
we downed a keg of Saint-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout(*) each.

My theory is that when you're busy doin' something vital (like
equalizing), no matter how trivial, you don't feel the narc.

This chamber dive was very good in safely showing me what the narc
symptoms are, because I'm sure that when I did my 40m dive a month ago, I'm
fairly sure that I would not have noticed the narc if I had not experienced
it before. <flame bait>However, my freeflow at that time prevented me from
fully enjoying the narc...</flame bait> Seriously, I don't know, but the
outcome might have been different if I hadn't noticed the narc then.

(*) This beer, brewed not 1km from where I live, recently blew the pants of
Guinness Stout. It walked of some recent international beer competition with
the platinium award.
