I have just read the posting from Dan Volker on his BMD rebreather experience..... Here in OZ, the main Scuba Expo has just completed in Sydney. Three rebreathers were on show, but only one is currently scheduled to ship in the next few months. The Draeger/UWATEC Atlantis 1 was on display with one of the guys who had been in the Bahamas on the stand. Unit looks good, but very recreational orientated. The PRISM was there, but I don't know much about this so......... The OCEANIC 50 looked pretty okay. Couldn't dive it & it is not shipping until early next year but as the only fully CC system seemed the main teckie unit to consider. I have seen the BMD advertised in Deeptech (thanks Win & Curt...2nd ed looks pretty good), but that's it. Now the questions: 1. Who is BMD & where does the Odessey (that is the name?) originate? 2. What are the system specs (depth, duration, CC or SCC, variable PO2?...etc)? 3. Cost & availability? 4. Training requirements? 5. Future development? Just the standard questions...sorry if this clouds the band with something already discussed but I have ben away for a few weeks & have been offline.
