Folks - There's been a smattering of discussion on this group over the past few months on the subject of entry level training requirements for technical diving students, along with some criticism of current standards. I'd like to get a better idea of the requirements some of the experts out there suggest, since I think most of you aren't motivated at all by making a profit from students ;). I'm familiar with the minimum IANTD requirements (L1 deep air), I understand they're: Certified Diver, minimum 100 dives. 10+ logged dives to 100 feet or more. EANx training. 10+ logged EANx dives. How would each of you stiffen these requirements if your motivation where to accept only students that stood a good chance of becoming safe technical divers? What skills do you consider most important? How would you test for them? How many supervised dives should a student have before being allowed to plan and execute a technical dive? Thanks in advance, Scott.
