Hi, I have been recommending divers to use the 30 Watts UK800 bulb in the lesser rated UK1200 divelights if they already have the UK1200 (along with rechargeables) and a want for twice as much light. This worked well in the past. I have no apriori reason to believe however that the reflector materials in the two lights are the same. My own almost 7 years old UK1200 show a slight discoloration of the reflector right next to the bulb. This is the same as what I have seen and gotten one report about in UK800s. New evidence on another UK1200 suggest that the reflector suffered a tad more damage as in actually deforming a bit if I understood the e-mail correctly. The correspondent said however that the damage was of an irrelevant nature. But I do wonder what changes/damage can be found in *newer* UK800s and UK1200s when using the 30 Watt halogen bulb ? thanks john
