I believe the housings and reflectors are in fact identical.  
One of my latest UK800R actually came with UK1200 stickers on 
the side!  Upon inquiry, the rep confirmed that the only difference is
the bulb and the battery pack (and the sticker).

To the best of my knowledge, the most common problem with simply
switching in 30 watt bulbs in the 1200 is the fact that most users 
FORGET that the bulb will melt the reflector and housing in about 5 
minutes!!!

I've seen several sheepish customers come in after peeling off the
90 second warning sticker and melting the housing while looking for
a tool in a darkened garage months later! <g>
