Richard Larocque asked: >What is the official word on advertising on this list? If someone is >describing its own product at length and comparing it to other similar >products, is it considered advertising? Again, this is a subject which comes up regularly on this list (and others and the usenet newsgroups). Interested parties should take a look at the techdiver archives. Last time this became an issue (middle of '94) Rick WIlliams (rick515@de*.co*) started the comdiv mailing list, which in his words... >will be a mixture of press releases, current goings on, >some articles, interviews and probably at some point a few ads. After a few postings, the list went quiet, and things returned to normal (normal!?) on techdiver. There is no official word about advertising on this list. The only direction we have is that which welcomes all new subscribers. This list exists to support the Technical Diving Community on the Internet. Topics of discussion include: - SAFETY in extended exposure dives - long duration diving - deep diving - wreck penetration diving - cave diving - NITROX - TRIMIX and other Mixed Gases - specialized equipment, including - communications equipment - high-performance regulators - rebreathers - technical training facilities - specialized techniques - etc 'etc' is a big place.
