Gene, Essentially what Rich was referring to was the difference between mixed gas diving (often with "trimix" - helium, nitrogen, and oxygen) and diving on compressed air. The density of air at depths where 1.6 ATA oxygen exposure occures produces significant differences in density when compared to a mix with 30-50% Helium in the mix. John
