Lee - you hit it right on the head: there is noone with (our) experience level that would do what we do other than on the right gas. I can back this up by the simple fact that noone gets our results. There are people who drive drunk, and there are people who use drugs - we now have information that indicates that these activities are not a good idea. The reason I make my point so bluntly is that somebody with my track record has to. My dive partners don't care what the rest of you do. One of them likes to tell me, "You can't teach a pig to sing. It doesn't work, and it irritates the pig." If there is such a thing as technical diving, why is it not practiced? Why are these bad practices being tought? Why are you guys listening to people who have never done anything? How come nobody gets info from the Navy, or the oil companies or other commercial diving entities? Why doesn't anybody just read Bennett and Elliot instead of the slop sold in dive stores? Why is this the only sport where participants try to do things every way other than the way the pro's do it? And while we are on the subject, those standards I quoted are bare minimums which decrease with exposure. George Irvine
