JT babbled:
<"Just as I thought, I told you in private you were a moron..... Your =
first post proves it, you even call yourself a weenie..... check out his =
first post from Sept 2000 ( that's just one year ago) and he lives here =
in Va some where, I never even heard of him around here, any of you guys =
in VBtech know him? You ain't nothing but an Internet Diver, stop =
posting you don't have a clue....">

Well, gee whiz, being the authority on morons that you are, I would =
expect better judgment from you. I'm not about to take any sort of =
abuse from a pot-bellied, beach-hippie-looking jackass with an =
over-inflated ego and a tendency to pander to fellow morons. If you're =
the leader of VBTech, then how come Widen and Cobb seem to get it, and =
you don't? My first post was founded in the fact that a little humility =
goes a long way towards getting a friendly response on this list, as =
opposed to pretending to know it all already. Humility is a trait you =
should probably seek to acquire.
Yeah, I lived in VA a year ago. I almost sought you out, thinking I =
might learn something. However, I soon realized from the idiocy you =
promote online that I wanted no part of such a three ring circus. I =
moved to FL shortly after that post. I lived in FL for most of the past =
year, and now I live in MS, if you care so much about where I live. I =
spent the last year getting an education by diving (a lot) with, and =
learning from people who, unlike you, know what they are doing. I've =
had a unique opportunity to learn from the pros, and I feel obligated to =
pass that information on when I can. Most of them have grown weary of =
battling idiots like you, so I picked up the torch. Admittedly, I =
haven't accomplished any great feats comparable to your endeavors such =
as, oh, let's see...wallowing around in the sand at 490', or chasing =
down a mooring line on the Doria, solo, after having to leave your piece =
of shit scooter behind. No, my achievements pale by comparison...
Quite frankly, I haven't much use for salt water right now, so =
you'll notice that my posts steer clear of the boat crap. In reference =
to the original post which prompted your inane little attack, I do, =
however, know what it takes to make a team. My whole damn existence =
counts on my ability to work in a team environment, at work and at play. =
Two idiots sharing the same proximity doesn't make a team, in any =
environment. I have never posted about anything I don't know about =
firsthand, nor will I ever waste bandwidth that way. If you doubt the =
logic of anything I have ever posted, then argue it. Sure, I'm still =
the new guy around the kind of company I keep, but if you doubt my =
ability or accomplishments in a cave, I'd be willing to bet I could come =
up with quite a few folks who would much rather dive with me in that =
environment than with a sideshow cowboy like you. As I said before, =
I've had a fortunate opportunity to learn from the best. What I've =
gained from this association, and my experiences thus far, I feel is =
worth sharing. If you don't agree, fine. Just understand that doing =
something WRONG 5,000 times doesn't make you any better at it, nor more =
qualified to speak about it, than anyone else. Of course, your example =
of how NOT to do things is invaluable to the entire list, and indeed, =
the entire diving world. =20

Sincerely,

Duane Liptak Jr.
