This is a pretty shitty troll, even compared to the usual here. Without ever seeing a Gavin DPV, I feel very confident that they aren't made of "sewer pipe." Without a doubt, George uses schedule 80 or thicker. I really doubt your sewer lines are made of anything thicker than DWV, which would be about schedule 20 or so. The city lines might be 40. Of course, you'd have to get on the _outside_ of the sewer line to know that so I suppose you're entitled to a break on this point. On your other "point," reduction of metal exposed to seawater is pretty much the state of the art in corrosion prevention. AT&T, Westinghouse, and Grumman are very heavy into this. This is why PCOF is used for most external DSRV/DSV wiring. Having worked in the field, I can tell you that the US government does very little R&D in this area. There is the engineering equivalent of hand-to-hand combat in the private sector to find systems to sell government agencies, who are far from being the biggest consumer of such equipment anyway. There are several things I disagree with George on. I haven't found the need to come up with an alias to express my opinion. Why have you? Get a clue. Get a life. ----- Original Message ----- From: givemeabreak george <georgegivemeabreak@ho*.co*> To: <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: 31 August, 2001 15:52 Subject: George has done it again! > > >Trey wrote: > >None of you morons even understand why we do what we do, and I am sick of > >explaining it over and over only to have you screw it up , misinterpret it, > >and drivel about it when none of you has the experience to tie my shoes or > >JJ's. > >As for this scooter thread, if anyone wants to know why the silent > >submersion ' is a ghastly piece of crap, I'll be glad to explain that as > >well. > > > > Well.....yes George I would like to hear why the Silent Submersion is a > piece of crap since your scooters are made of sewer pipe and glue.
