I get payed 11K a year,which I would assume is less than most... However I saved to do the course hence it would assume that committment, that is lacking in some, not money or knowledge. As for reading the books, I would like to thing anybody doing a course would read before they go on the course, after all my job is a BioPhysicist in a Oceanographic lab, and I deal with Diving Physics quite a lot, hence you say, correction know, that I knew more than I was taught at TECH level. However you still have to prove that you know it or any Tom, Dick or HArry could ask for any percentage of Nitrox, the consequences being:- well disasterous comes to mind. If the costs where excessive then why are they still a Agency, they would have no turnover hence have gone bust by now, because no body would pay... And also reading all the books is no substitute for experience gained in tuition from a more experience diver in the water, which is offered to you on these courses..
