snip> ...you have actually payed the money and are dissatisfied with the content of the TECH course or people who are considering the courses and just moaning about the money... About to go and hide in something flame proof snip> So you should! I am one of the latter you mention above. I have read all the books on tech diving, and corresponded with many people on the subject. I would really like to go on all these courses, and buy loads of O2 clean equipment etc, but because those providing the courses and the equipment insist on trying to make a living from it, I can't afford it! I object to paying 100 quid for a Basic Nitrox course, and come away knowing that I could have learnt that much with an afternoon's reading! Particularly when I am told that I can't do the Advanced course until I have done the basic one. I did join the EATD as it was then with great expectations, but, apart from two tiny "magazines" I was completely ignored. All they wanted was my money. I look forward to when BS-AC and SAA start running Nitrox courses. Hopefully the fees will come down to something reasonable. For example, a BS-AC O2 course costs about half that of a Basic Nitrox one, and contains about twice the theory! Bill Dyer Nuneaton SAC (SAA #220) Warwickshire, UK bill.dyer@mi*.co*.uk*
