Aloha,

When did this accident occur? We attempted to remove the pig (black and round
with white eyes and stubby ears) from the entrance at Royal last summer (July?)
to prevent this kind of accident; it was clearly visible from just inside the
cave entrance (with a light) and sat amid *several* solid concrete blocks
(which look as if they were cast in large coffee cans) right about where the
silt begins. However, when we got there the pig was already gone. Usually get
gas at Renneker's when diving that area, but heard nothing (at the time) about
recent fatalities there. Renneker did describe an accident at Royal where
experienced cave divers perished as a result of becoming disoriented in the
silt and the comment was that no one dives it any more because of that (meaning
both the accident and the silt). My impression was that this incident occurred
*years* before...

Regards

Dave
