800 feet? A real tragedy is right! Those two boys most likely both had high aptitudes for diving and were fearless having just finished a Padi OW course with lights? at Gennie cavern and then went over to Royal Springs to do exactly what they were trained to do. Get killed in a cave! Not a good way to start in my opinion. -----Original Message----- From: HGStone@ao*.co* To: OEA51@go*.co* Date: Thu Aug 02 12:06:51 PDT 2001 Subject: Re: cement pig! >Hi. I was diving nearby at peacock the day that it happened. Bill Renniker who did the recovery and filmed it said one boy was found in the very back of the cave around 800 feet. The other boy was found about 100 feet closer towards the entrance. Because the boys were wearing single tanks, they were able to squeeze through openings that required sidemount for the recovery. A real tragedy.
