Hi Ed,

Once you get used to the necklace, getting out of a Hogarthian rig with a
single is about the same as your rig.

Necklace, buckle, crotchstrap and you're out. With your profiles I might go
without the crotchstrap to make it even easier.

In your place, I'd probably keep that BC for the moment and replace it with
a backplate and wing at the first sign of trouble.

Either Halcyon or DiveRite will probably be fine. I went Halcyon since no
one I have talked to has switched from one. Stay the hell away from OMS
backplates. They are just too weird and harder to get in and out of.

You'll like the wing setups since they are modular, which translates to
cheaper in the long run and the ability to change the wing (and hence the
lift) is pretty handy sometimes. It also builds in some weight so you have
less lead to fiddle with.

The tank change will pay off instantly. Lugging that AL80 (and the extra
weight it requires) on and off the boat as often as you do is probably doing
ugly things to your spine.

Don
