Capt Wyatt, I am sure that in your world Mouth is the Dali Lama, but the =
fact is that while the man has been at it for some 50 years, or at least =
30, he has failed to participate in any real diving ever. He has failed =
to do anything but gravitate to the lowest common denominator and to =
surround himself with like kind. As a consequence, is has been slow to =
do anything that makes any sense, and unfortunately there are several =
deaths out there that document this. He has had to be beaten into =
submission in court or by his "peers" or by the example of the real pros =
in this game for what little concessions to common sense he has made.

In my opinion, formulated over 13 years of knowing this guy, he is =
motivated by nothing but the buck. When I first met him he was teaching =
deep air and "deco" diving, at the time what he considered to be "tech", =
and he and the biggest collection of losers on the planet started IANTD =
a few years later, well after the pros in cave diving were using =
techniques he still does not grasp, leaving IANTD speaking for itself as =
a mediocre collection of compromises to stupidity, being only displaced =
in the bottom of the barrel" category by TDI.

Now the easy buck comes from teaching electronic rebreathers to people =
who don't have any reason to dive rebreathers as a "higher order" =
certifications for the badge collectors and a 12 inch dick for the =
pussies, and the concepts learned from his organization are what make up =
the accident reports that you see so many of. Mouth thinks these devices =
are some great thing. Funny, I hold the cave diving distance record on =
rebreather along with my friend Jarrod Jablonski, and I think =
rebreathers represent nothing but risk and should only be used for a =
very good reason like for the dives we do. I never dive mine without a =
good reason, and I never dive mine without an all pro buddy like JJ. =
Notice that all of the deaths have no reason to dive, and the dead are =
all either solo or diving with complete idiots whose incompetence and =
fear ( read IANTD training ) leaves them without a solution. The =
concepts and principles taught in IANTD are the antithesis of DIR , and =
they have the track record to prove it.

Where have I been for the last 25 years? Exploring all the caves that =
the know it alls like you and the rest of the "mouths" in the cave =
"community" could not touch if they were dry and had a Disney ride =
running through them. I also am not in the dive business - I have a real =
life - , was only in the Navy due to the Viet Nam War, and since then =
have never met any more stupid bunch of morons even when I played =
football with pure animals, and their diving is complete bullshit. I =
obviously was not there as a diver or any other kind of sleddog. How's =
that?=20

Let's make an obvious point here: who has all the records and what =
organizations and people are involved in that, and why do they not have =
the death toll and constant accidents, and why do they do all the diving =
and why do they come up with all the leading edge in this game? Tell me =
again who Tom Mount is, I still don't see anything but bullshit.=20

  Subject: Tom Mount

I was trained as a cave diver by a student of Tom Mounts', Bill =
Schenck. Later I dived with Tom in several caves over a several years.=20

Tom was training director of NACD at the time & Scheck Exley ran the =
NACD ITC I attended=20
when I became NACD Instructor # 28 in 1975. These were the early days =
of Cave diving=20
when the pioneers, like Tom were making "Safe Cave Diving".

My hat has been off to Tom for almost 25 years.Where were you 25 years =
ago? I wonder if Patti remebers me taking her to the abyss off of =
Galteres' boat at the Royal Palms in Grand Cayman in 1978??

Tom Mount & Bill Schenck provided me with the best technical diver =
training I ever received. This training equals my training as a U.S. =
Navy Diving/Salvage officer.

I dive about everyday & run my own charter scuba boat in the Lower =
Florida Keys EVERYDAY.

Now; I won't respond to flames. I don't intend to piss & moan with you =
either.

My motivation for this post was to give some of the newcomers in the =
last 15 or 20 years or so=20
with a more mature perspective to who Tom Mount has been and is.

  Best Regards;

  Captain Jim Wyatt
