List,

May I be allowed to translate, as best I can, what George has argued,
for the CURRENT list of doubters here, to try to explain perhaps a
little more clearly where he's driving from, and I don't mean in the
motoring sense.

I'm sure that this will be repeatable time and again, as it has in the
past. The comments are sometimes mine and sometimes I am putting words
into Trey's mouth. These would be apposite to Trey's, and should not
necessarily be construed as his. My apologies if I get that wrong.

As an aside, try reading the archives, people, before you spout off at
the mouth.

Read: whilst I am sure that the subject (TM) has quite possibly
changed his dive style and what he teaches, to some significant
degree, he simply does not, or fails to understand, that technique
evolves, regardless of the medium and his technique is, shall we say,
suspect in the knowledge gained by today's world. More importantly, he
prefers not to change technique if it has been developed by another
party. Not a good thing.

Read: he started an agency to train divers. He might have been
motivated by the notion that he was doing good. After all, there was
no other there to teach this "technical" stuff. Whether he did so for
only those reasons is, quite possibly, doubtful.

Whether that agency teaches proper technique is, quite possibly, doubtful.

Read: It may be that TM is actually into making a buck. There's
nothing wrong with that as such, but surely if its a teaching medium,
you'd better GET IT RIGHT.

Me? I don't think he has, not remotely.

Read: I know better. PERIOD. I also seriously dislike the way these
guys cross the patch where I do actually KNOW better.

So what is TM doing teaching this stuff?

Read: Been there, done that, paid my dues, like to think I know better.

Read: Hey, just look at the WKPP. Looks like we're doing SOMETHING right.

Is TM? Compare the fatalities!

Cheers,

Christian

PS Personal history: I do not dive DIR (wish I did, don't). Been here
mostly lurking for the odd year, basically believe in Trey's
philosophy and quite certainly believe in his passion. Its sad that
newcomers, without researching it or at least going to the archives,
so often come out the way they do.
