Max, the 450 is a straightjacket compared to the 350. The guys on our team who use them are dive instructors who wanted something that approximated DIR and real life but would take more beating. I do not teach diving, but I wreck dive a lot and my four tls 350'S are all still alive and well. I ordered a fifth last week. I ordered the old Apeks outlet valve - the new one is a piece of shit . I ordered the hooded intake valve - only a farm animal would try to cave dive with an unprotected intake valve. I ordered velcro-closing pockets, as only a farm animal would zip his safety gear behind a zipper underwater. I keep all my stuff in my pockets: the tight pocket is on the right ( where you canister light is ) and the bigger one with more stuff that you go to more often is on the left where there is no light. I ordered the suit using the number of my last suit so as to get the exact measurements. You have to lie about you circumferences to get a decent fit with DUI. I told them I had 13" arms, for instance. You have to be real careful in the legs and ass - they are used to NE wreck divers, so you will get a Santa Claus suit if you do not cut those measurements significantly. The "cave" suit is an acknowledgement by DUI that not everyone is a huge fat slob and not everyone is putting bullshit insulation under the suit, so they make it fit better. I use C-4 and that alone with nothing else. If I am diving cold water, I add weight and put more argon in the suit. I also use perfect new C-4 and care for it properly. You guys obviously do not know what the genesis of the TLS 350 is, or you would not be asking this kind of question. Who are they really made for? Find out and stop looking at bullshit. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Max" <max@xd*.co*> To: <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: Monday, February 26, 2001 12:52 AM Subject: DUI CLX VS TLS > Hey Experienced DUI fans I am looking for expert opinions comparing the DUI > TLS 350 and the CLx 450 Drysuit. > > Essentially they are the same suit except the CLx has the heavier cordura > over lay on the upper .
