Actually, it is very good advice. Case in point - Just this weekend I was diving with someone that had a balanced secondary on the backup around the neck. We were playing with some scooters and I watched the individual scooter off in a cloud of bubbles as the reg started to freeflow. Mine is not balanced and I've never had that problem.
