HBO treatment to promote revascularization of hypoxic tissues is known to cause hyperoxic myopia. Some patients are thrilled since they may suddenly see well without glasses. However, it always returns to normal (or baseline) within a few weeks. It's well known phenomenologically but I don't think anyone knows the mechanism. Check: Eric P.
