According to the lit, hyperoxic myopia (HM) has been
recognized since the late 70's.  Though the mech is
unknown, it appear as a myopic shift in divers exposed
to sustained (4 h/day) HBO in the 1.3 ATA + range.
Reportedly it is reversible in that the vision returns
to baseline w/i a few months of the cessation
of HBO exposure.  

It has been proposed that it could B viewed as a
manifestation of oxtox.  Furthermore, since no change
of lens curvature has been noted, some have speculated
that HM is a product of altered lens metab due to HBO.
