He could have done better. However, when you ask what the point is, that flies right in the face of technical diving at large. What's the point of flying a Cessna rather than being a passenger in a B737? What's the point of swimming way into a Florida cave? People who don't see the point tend to be of the less adventurous kind. As an aside, the Norwegian "stunt diver" Bjarte Vestoel did 225m last spring so I guess the Red Sea stunt divers are lagging behind. Don't get me wrong, I don't accept this level of risk myself but the "what's the point" remark doesn't ring true from a technical diver. We all do stuff that would make couch potatoes ask "what's the point". Let's not discourage adventure and rather focus on doing it right. The "what's the point" thing is what I'm used to hearing from state regulators, commercial divers and insecure sport divers. That's why I jump whenever I hear it ;-) Some people push the envelope and some do it better / farther / safer than others. This guy ran a very high PO2 and a totally insane narcosis level. That's the point. regards, Hans -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
