Rob, > Just wondering if anybody's ever tried retrofitting a steel 72 that has the > 1/2" taper threads to the threads normally used on manifold and other > non-antiquated equipment? Just an idea I had out of no where, any ideas? Hmmm, wouldn't recommend doing that...never tried it though, never heart about anybody doing it either. > On a related note, what exactly is the normal thread size? I know it's > 3/4", but what's the thread count? These are the manufacture standards from CGA V-I-1977, ANSI B57.1-1977: 3/4" NGS (19.0mm) Threads cylinder: length 0.95" (24.1mm) 13.2 threads / Valve: length 0.77" (19.5mm) 10.7 threads Have fun!
