Manos, the d400, d350,...are poorly designed. They breathe great but are not made for real, organized, thought out diving. The 2nd stages for this kind of diving have to be of a certain style. As far as 2nds go-all posiedon and all dacor are crap. The 2nds need to dump water from the bottom, have the front removable-inwater-for cleaning, have standard hose fittings, work on low IP, have a very solid case, have no dimples or flanges or other ways of making them impossible to work on in the water, take a standard mouth piece, not have too many parts to hold onto when working on them in the water, must have some way of blocking any venturi effect to keep from free flowing in strong current, must have very good breathing characteristics, must not blow bubble up under the mask, must not vent to the side, must be able to be purged of water in any position, must not breathe wet, must not be too long or too heavy or oddly shaped as to make it uncomfortable, must have a hose attachment point that does not make the hose torque the reg, must have compatible parts with the many other regs you use, must not have useless breaches into the breathing air space, must have parts the don't dig or cut into each other over time creating a failure point that might go undetected over time, must not have a lever that cannot dislodged from the poppet, need to exhale as easily as possible, must not have pilot valves, ............... and a few more things. By The Way, Batman is the last person that you should use as a role model-EZ ----- Original Message ----- From: Manos Manoli <manos@ma*.co*.cy*> To: Scott <scottk@hc*.co*>; Tech Diver <techdiver@aquanaut.com> Sent: Thursday, February 10, 2000 9:14 AM Subject: Best Divers > ok ok Now you will both come and say that D400 is bullshit , so why dont you > say > that Jim Bowden is also a stroke he is being using it for record dive > explorations ? > > But im supriced you didnt mention the good ones , you know why because if i was > asking > we all know the answer.
