Subject: Was Rock Boots, now is Slander
Andrew,

You have a very offensive attitude, and a "holier than thou" personna
which I find to be rather repulsive. You can call me or anyone else a
liar all you want, it wont change my persective, or what I have to say.
Calling another person, who has just as much right to speak or post as
you, a liar, and what is said "spouting off" is a sign of insecurity,
immaturity, and innability to deal with criticism, in my mind. Are you
 above criticism?

Slander is a malicious attempt, with malice a forethought to discredit
or defame
a man or business' reputation or character. I did no such thing. I
simply posted my
experience with your store, as I experienced it. If anyone is guilty of
slander here, it is you for calling me a liar. If you knew me, you
would
realize what an out of line thing that is to say.

 The simple issue is this:

I asked about GUE training, and was steered away from it. Whoever it
was
I talked to assumed that I was an ignoramus, or somehow unworthy of GUE
training. When I tried to talk about Haclyon Gear, I was steered to the
"poodle jackets" and gear of the type I am trying to get away from. I
am
not the type of person to tell anyone how to run their business, but
you
guys arent as perfect as you like everyone to think. The individual I
spoke to has a receding hairline, is of medium build, and about 5'11".
Does this sound like anyone that works for you, or am I lying again? As
for your store, I can tell you its a little closet on the top of a car
stereo store, with almost no where to park. Along the back wall are
some
EE lights, and one small display of Halcyon gear, which is why I came
in
in the first place. Now, am I still a liar?

BTW, why bring JJ into this? He has nothing to do with the thread, or
the statements made, except perhaps that you are tagging along on his
coat tails for legitimacy. Leave him out of this. We are talking about
 YOU and YOUR store.

I have been reading a lot on techdiver, and the Aquanaut archives, and
have been through your web page from bow to stern. What I was lead to
believe by your web page, and what I was greeted with in your store,
were two entirely different entities. It was almost as if I walked into
another shop all together. Perhaps it was a case of letdown, after
 visiting your webpage.

Now, you like to crow about your accomplishments, and with that should
come an ability to talk to us little guys as well. And to be able to
use
a little common decency. You are, after all, supposed to be a scuba
professional. I actually attended your presentation on the Brittanic
expedition, and enjoyed it greatly, even though you had to holler over
the idiots screaming about a game on the TV in the next room. Am I
lying
 again?

I am sure I made an error when I said PDIC. I have been visiting all
shops in the Seattle area, and its very easily possible that I was
confused. Whats your excuse? I will take this opportunity to apologize
for my ignorance, and admit my wrong doing. Now its your turn. The
issue
is that I asked about GUE training, and was steered away from it. I am
not a "newbie", have been diving since 1988. This certainly does not
make me an expert, but it doesnt make me an idiot either. I have read
enough to learn which direction I want my future to go in, and the only
person changing my mind about that is you. You and your attitude. I had
what I consider to be a sour experience in your store. Is that my
fault?

Loss of my business will certainly not hurt you in anyway, but what
good
can come from pushing people away who seek you out?

I dont speak for Shadow, but as to why you think anyone is afraid of
you
is pretty illustrative of a level of arrogance. Whoever he is, he
brought up some valid points, which YOU seem to be AFRAID to answer.
Saying you wont answer because he is anonymous is a handy out, isnt it?
Why dont you show all of us that you are the bigger man here, and
address the questions and statements in a mature, professional manner?
Its the substance, not the poster that is the issue here.

I will return to your store, and I will speak to you. I am not afraid
of
anything I said,or posted, but you seem to be. I am willing to give you
the benefit of a doubt, and try again, but I can tell you one thing:

Calling me a liar is not a feather in your hat, and if you do so to my
face, the response you get will not be as polite as this letter. I am a
decent man, and the situation I find myself in is not one of my
 construction.
It seems to me that you perhaps need to step down off your throne, and
mingle with us little guys, instead of hurling insults from on high.
There is obviously some missunderstanding happening here, but with your
attitude, the missunderstanding has little chance of being resolved.

After all, it is I, the customer, that will give YOU a second chance.
Will
you extend me the same courtesy? We will see, as will everyone reading
 this list.
