The biggest difference is that the USP *bottles* are tracked, so as to be
sure they are never let out to a welder.
At least thats the idea. The issue is, under very certain circumstances, it
*might* be possible for acetylene to get backed into an 02 tank.

And, there are differences in how the bottles are evacuated before filling.
Also, some suppliers test the bottles after filling, but not all. Aviators
02 is the same friggin gas, just analyzed, and the analysis documented.

Everyone I know used welding 02 for years.

Now? We can get USP 02 for around $20.00 for 248 cu ft. (K bottle), so there
is no reason not to use USP.
