Steve, I have a mountain of stroke gear - things to horrible to mention - that I accumulated on a "monkey see monkey do" basis. I have three cheater valves, several pony holders, wreck reels, assorted bc's and fins, and scooters of all types. The genesis tanks became oxygen bottles, the ponies got rerigged as deco stage bottles, most of the other stuff gets pitched once the pain of the money loss wears off. I can say this : what I have learned about dive gear screwups saves me from buying anything in other activites without going to the pros to see what they use, and then being sure to get the best version of that possible.
