Well, not just the clips, but also rings and other hardware on BCs seem to
be increasingly plastic. I've shopped around a bit looking for brass D-rings
but they are generally welded/soldered/whatever closed so there is no easy
way to slip them into the nylon webbing loops on the BC. I've considered
using split rings but most of them are "too large" and usually steel and don't
hold up that well in salt water. I use a Dacor Caribbean for sport diving and
while it has a welcome quantity of D-rings and hose retainers, they are ALL
plastic. After investing in brass clips for my reels, lights, and other dive
accessories, it just doesn't feel right clipping them to a flimsy plastic ring.

Has anyone found suitable alternatives? Brand names and suppliers welcome.
