HPNS might not be relevant to most trimix divers. However, it is a result of using helium breathing mixtures. The trimix training presumably discusses the benefits, risks, and procedures for using mixes including helium, such as trimix. In my opinion, a mention of HPNS in the course is appropriate. This is similar to mentioning oxygen toxicity in an open water diver course which is teaching only air to less than 130'. However unlikely when diving under conditions similar to training, the condition described is a result of breathing the gas in question at depth. Thus the diver using it should be aware of this effect. For the oxygen toxicity example, this topic might be 5 minutes of the entry level scuba course, and significantly more in the nitrox course. My opinion is that it doesn't hurt to know a little more about something than you absolutely need to know at the moment. The trick is in presenting that knowledge so that it adds to the overall understanding without opening doors to misusing it.
