I think you missed the point of John's reference to the Seals.    His was not
lamenting the WKPP's use of procedures, as these are highly respected by most of
us here.    That was not the point.   What John was calling to task was the
particular insensitive and insolent manner in which these views are expressed to
the technical community;  specifically though the Directorship of the WKPP.
I don't know what experience you have had with the military, but behavior like
that among the executive staff would not be tolerated.   It shows a low regard
for others, an extreme lack of professional decorum, and inappropriate level
heightened belief in oneself.    Individuals like this would either be
administratively discharged, or meet before a board of court-martial.    One may
have all the ribbons and decorations one desires, but if they fail to act in a
manner respective of their rank and position, the military has no use for them.
