Much is revealed! So Jim, like me you usually dive solo, and for the same reasons. Some points to consider: The DIR practices are in fact very similar to East Coast diving practices, and to non-DIR Florida cave diving practices. The DIR crowd on the Internet are intolerant of any variation from the DIR practices. They happy to use language that would make their mothers ashamed. They have also done the community a great service by providing free documentation of the DIR system on the Internet.
