Dear All, A quick question I hope some people can shed some light on. In the pub last night, we got into a discussion on the safety on various mixed gases, with one person contending that Trimix was a 'dodgy' gas, in as much as tracking the absorbtion/release of one inert gas was hard enough, never mind two going in and out at different rates, each possibly affecting the behaviour of the other. His argument was that Trimix divers 'covered themselves' from the problems this causes by using pure O2 for decompression. Now all this sounds plausible, yet I seem to remember seeing statistics (can't remember where, but may have been an old issue of Aquacorps) that Trimix had an excellent safety record. So (finally!) the question is : 'Does anyone have any facts/figures about the safety of trimix, and the incidence of DCI when using it (that is "undeserved" DCi, as opposed to DCI after a blowup)?' Thanks for your time. Iain Robertson robertsoni@ol*.ag*.bt*.co*.uk*
