The earliest set of Wings I had I ended up just cutting some slots in the
material in the U to allow for the fabric bands I was using. This seemed to
work well and in this case actually held the tanks slightly closer to the
backplate - more to do with the size of the tanks.

I also have a SeaTec BC wich is quite similar to the DiveRite Wings. I don't
know if they still make this model (SeaHorse) but it was simply a standard
backpack attached to a back inflation unit. The tank band went through some
slots in the material and the material was captured between the hard
backpack and the tank. I had no problem with this using a single tank.
