In my humble opinion, the book is a good source of information, but some of the material about safety and cleaning of components and cylinders while mixing nitrox is incorrect and might downplay some of the more important aspects of handling oxygen. This is especially important becuase as technical divers we usullay blend at higher concentration or great pressures than most recreational blenders. Also, some of the information on how to forge documents can get you into some serious trouble if there was an accident or site inspection at your shop or wherever you fill. Don't break the law, especially Federal Laws. If you are really interested in blending, take a blending course. The TDI Advanced blending course is really thorough and would give you all the background and safety precautions and protocols that you would need to safely mix gas. From recreational nitrox to technical nitrox to trimix. A proper blending class is a msut if you are going to do it professionallly. And if just for yourself and your dive bud, aren't you worth a Saturday in the classroom ? The Oxy Hackers book would be a good companion to the TDI text because it would give you part numbers, sources and distributors for all the equipment you need. How to plumb and some short cuts and easy formulas. I keep those two books and my ANDI and IANTD manuals in my garage, which I affectionately refer to as my PADI "no-star" facility. I blend once a week and usually make four to eight cylinders, have been for a little more than three years. Blend safely, don't let anything go BOOM !!!
