i was simply making the point that mindless authoratative(& i don't give a crap if you don't like my spelling) approaches to instruction don't work. people usually want to know why you do something. in fact theyrespond a whole lot better when they do understand the reason why, & the reason stands up to there scrutiny. in the drug situation i was refering to i can say without question the two students would have lived longer -they might have overdosed another time- but they were confronted by an assisant principal that put them in a room by themselve & told them that they were calling the police. the both students had been found high during class. they managed to eat all the drugs they had & subsequently died. ignorance is what killed them(& there own stupidity). education, knowledge & understanding is what helps. hank In a message dated 8/27/98 8:07:23 AM Pacific Daylight Time, RLatulip@ao*.co* writes: << To say that the deaths from drugs resulted because someone was tough on them is in itself flawed (or in your spelling from above floored). Can you prove that they wouldn't of taken the drugs if they visited re-habs centers? I THINK NOT! This is more lets baby them bullshit. I mean tell me what the hell Australian liberal crap has to do with diving. >> -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
