you guys are all finding better ways all of which have merit & will work to do a search & recovery mission. you are all correct - my question is? why ? what in gods name was he thinking when he trusted his life to so little air? IMHO nothing is worth the risk. i have gear spread out over a large portion of the east coast that i never elected to return for after i just completed my deco & arrived on the surface. i have grabbed divers by the leg going for the goody bag or light that broke loose while hanging on the anchor line- & wouldn't let them do that. i to have spent some time in the past talking with Robert & i am truly sad to hear of his passing. but quite frankly i have more compasion for his family. they have to go on without the father & husband that they loved. i extened all my sympathy to them. my one recomendation to all of us (& i include myself) is to STOP & THINK in any circumstance of the conequences of our actions before you act. make your decision after weighing your choices. would you start a dive to 90 fsw with 750 psi? remember gear can be replaced we can't! hank -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
