I know it's too late to help Robb, but a bit of technique I observed earlier this summer in a similar situation might help others in future. Somebody had dropped a mask, and Ian Marshall unlocked his reel, tied it off to the boat, and let it drop. That immediately gave us a line down to the right area with enough weight to take it down. After a few moments to rationally plan a quick trip to the bottom, we went down after it. I wasn't slow going down, but Ian had retrieved the mask and was reeling his line back in before I hit the bottom. I never met Robb, but in his postings here he was always a gentleman and seemed quite knowledgeable. He will be missed. -- Anthony DeBoer <adb@on*.ca*> -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
