A lot of passive language there Dan. Are you the President? Were the victims politicians? Sounds like "Mistakes were made". As always the person making the mistakes seems to be left with little in the way of responsibility. No, nothing "allowed" anyone "believe" anything about their gear except themselves. As much as you like to pass the buck around it has to stop someplace. And that final place is with Joe Diver. Life is harsh, but it allows no alternate end destination for that buck. It stops. With me, with you. Not with OMS, not with a cork tanks, or lead sleds, not with the guy who mis-mixed the tank you were too lazy to analyze. If someone jumps in 200' water without knowing if their inflation systems will lift their gear that is their fault for not taking the proper precautions. That goes for wings bungied so much that they restrict needed lift as well as for someone who simply over-weights a small or medium set of wings as they add gear but forget to realize the ramifications that it may make them negative beyond the lift limits of the wings they have been using (close to their limit) up to that point. > DIR acceptance by several new tech divers---since they are already tech > diving, and since tech divers are dying right now, every month, I'd say this > is an important, life threatening issue. Dan you can make everyone in the world dive the gear you want them to. If they dont have the intelligence to reason it out for themselves though they will simply find other ways to die. As they say "nothing if foolproof, fools are too ingeniuous". > equal to George, to you, to me, to Zero, or to Bill Mee, basically, to the > reporter, there is no discrimination as to what opinions are "better". The > public will hear both sides of any arguement, Golly what a HORRIBLE thing Dan. Hearing both sides of an issue. Shit the world is going to end now. > this is bad, the chance of a new tech diver dying two weeks from now, > because he wore a heavy wet suit and bondage wings , is still a real > threat----one that posts by Wrolf will contribute to--- And that is complete and utter bullshit. Each diver is responsible for themself, for their own gear and how much they invest in time money and gear to make their dives as safe as possible. Or are you not convinced that you can make simple, clear, logical arguments which will leave knowledge-seeking new divers with little doubt as to the better ways to do things. I'll give ya a hint which you guys refuse to seem to pick up... it helps when you stop yelling and flaming every other post.
